Setting personal preferences

Although most aspects of Web Access behavior are controlled by a system administrator, you can modify some options to suit your own preferences.

To set your personal preferences:

  1. Click the Edit preferences icon  on the toolbar, or select Preferences from the Miscellaneous section of the document, folder, or selection context menus.
  2. Select options using the descriptions in the following table and click OK.
Personal preference options
Option Description

Enable Meridian Web Client

Select this option if you want to be able to remotely view hybrid documents, redline documents, or download and upload batches of documents.

Click Document Transfer Options to set your personal preferences for the download options. For more information, see Document transfer options details.

Click Viewer Options to set your personal preferences for the viewing window.

Use Oracle AutoVue for viewing documents

Replaces the viewer with the AutoVue Client/Server (Java applet) viewer. Your organization must have an available AutoVue rendering server and AutoVue application server to use this option. Consult a system administrator for the URLs to type for this option.

View renditions

Displays the rendition of the selected document in the viewer by default instead of the source file.

View documents in a separate browser window

Displays documents in the viewer in a separate browser window instead of reusing the Web Access browser window. This option makes previewing documents while browsing more convenient. You can click document icons in a navigation view to show the selected document in the new window while the navigation view remains visible in the main Web Access window. This feature also works with the Show Document command when invoked from the Document shortcut menu in a navigation view.

Note    If this option is enabled, your browser’s pop-up blocking feature might need to be adjusted or cleared to allow the separate window to open.

Warning    Errors can occur and redlines will not be saved if this option is enabled and the Always open pop-ups in a new tab option is enabled in the browser. We recommend that you use one option or the other but not both.

Use custom color scheme

Displays Web Access using an alternate color scheme. Select a scheme from the list. For information about customizing the available color schemes or creating new ones, see the BlueCielo Meridian Enterprise Configuration Guide.

Use BlueCielo AutoControls for improved form display

Select this option to use more powerful ActiveX controls on forms instead of basic controls for date properties and lookup lists.

Create thumbnails on import of document

Generates thumbnail images of new documents you upload to the vault.

Update thumbnails when releasing Quick Change

Refreshes thumbnail images of documents you upload after making changes.

Remember location in vault between sessions

When you start a new Web Access session, opens the vault to the last document you viewed.

Enable clipboard Cut, Copy, and Paste commands

Allows you to use the Clipboard to cut, copy, and paste documents and folders.

Enable viewing the vault at a baseline or specific date or time

Select this option to enable the Time Context list in the context bar that allows you to view the vault in history.

Current time zone

Select your local time zone so that time data is displayed correctly.

Clear credentials after logging off

Clears your credentials from the browser cache when you log off of Web Access. This prevents your credentials from being reused accidentally or maliciously by other persons. Consult with a system administrator to determine if you need to enable this option to comply with your organization’s security policies. This option is only available if your web server is configured to use Basic authentication.

Note    This option affects all websites that are open in the browser. Therefore, logging off of Web Access might also log you off of the other sites.
